"Notturna"...nocturnal...that is what I have been lately. At least I have the moon and the stars to keep me company. If you get the chance, take a minute to gaze upwards tonight. You won't be disappointed...I sure haven't been...

Vacanza

How I spent my summer vacation "vacanza" by Laura Fair…I played, I worked, I played, I worked, I worked. That’s about it in a nutshell...here is the real story...

No trip to the States is complete without a stop at my favorite bargain shopping stores...how I begin every visit. I was then whisked off to beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina and Lady’s Island for the 4^th of July with my family. If you have never been there, please try to go at some point in your life. Not that I want to up their tourism…so keep it a little quiet, but it is one of the most charming cities and the view…mi piace da morire! See for yourself…

Then the real work began at the Atlanta Show. As I mentioned, Golden Rabbit debuted new collections and I had SO MANY good meetings. Things I cannot wait to share with you…but we will have to put them off until the powers that be let me reveal everything. It was also my time to see “show friends” who are so great and supportive. Allow me to indulge a few…Tracy, Gerald, Kathleen, Margaret, Peggy & Kathy…loved seeing all of you!

I wrapped up the show and headed straight out of town to Charleston, South Carolina and then the Isle of Palms. (Believe me, I know how lucky I am...I don't take these trips for granted!) I was able to reconnect with old friends…meet some new ones…and recharge…it was fantastic and perfect.

Then off again to Charlotte, North Carolina for another client meeting…to be out in the open very soon…you are going to love it! I then traveled to Augusta, Georgia for a little visit with my second favorite puppy, Shadow, and more work and play with my father and sister.

Then finally back to Atlanta for a marathon session of packing and more packing...always difficult. This time was a little different because my sister and brother-in-law were moving to another house...wishing them love and happiness in their new home!!

Whew…no wonder I was exhausted and slept for days upon my return to Italy. Actually, I should say I slept during the days and stayed awake for many nights…so out of whack! Back to reality…and the studio!

Sono tornata

I have returned to Italy...
and to my house, and my man, and my dogs...so happy...although, without luggage.

Atlanta & Golden Rabbit

My first day of the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market was busy busy and full of surprises. I had some wonderful meetings in the morning that could turn into some even more wonderful Laura Fair product...I will keep you posted!

BUT...the best thing that happened was that Golden Rabbit Enamelware surprised me and debuted TWO new Laura Fair Collections! First is the Blue Toile...

and the second is Beach House...

These have been a long time coming and I was so happy to see them live and in person. Look for both of these Collections in stores near you starting in September 2009!

In addition, they continued the Damask Collection by adding these cute little pails.

Perfect to use for just about anything. Can't wait to get some for me.

Needless to say, my first day was spectacular...hope it continues for the second, third, and fourth...

Designtime

It is designtime again...that time twice a year where I frantically prepare to travel to the United States with my designs in hand. I leave on a jet plane tomorrow! I have been so looking forward to my trip to the South this July...even though the internet is a wonderful thing that can make miles seem more like inches...
it is always a joy to go back "home".

I will be attending the
Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market
July 8-11, 2009 to visit with my clients...and hopefully find some new ones! My portfolios are bursting at the seams...I have a ton of new designs, colors schemes, paintings...the list goes on.

I will not have much time to write during my trip...but surely I will see some of you while I am there?!

Giving back

Sunday evening we attended a very special community gathering. The priest of our little country church is retiring after fifty years of service. Can you believe that...for fifty years he has lived in the little house offered by the church and has given his life to the community. Just imagine the number of services and ceremonies he has conducted...how many baptisms, first communions, weddings, funerals...how many people have been touched by his presence.

This has my mind racing...motivating me to find more ways to give back some of the wonderful I have received from others in this life.


On a lighter note, the Vescovo (Bishop) has not been able to find a replacement for the priest. So Sunday night he announced he will continue to lead some of the services, but when he needs a break, he is going to take one. Something else to keep in mind...
